The drive up into the mountainous area is beautiful, and we had a direct balcony view out over Chiemsee. The restaurant is superb. We were very impressed with the meal itself, the extensive drinks menu and the perfect service from our German hosts. In the morning, a large breakfast buffet is included, which is always an added bonus. We had the opportunity to watch a summer thunderstorm roll in, and from the height of the hotel, it was beautiful to watch.

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel has a beautiful and quiet location with great views and a hiking trailhead on the edge of the property. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. There was a large flat screen television in our room with many cable stations. We also enjoyed the nice beer garden and restaurant. Wireless internet is available throughout the hotel for a small fee.

This hotel is a hidden gem nestled amongst the hills with stunning views over the lake. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating, always greeting you with a smile. The rooms, although a little run down, are quiet and more than adequate for a comfortable stay. Plus, the breakfast buffet offers a great selection of delicious food to start your day.
Pillows could be a bit firmer.

Superb isolated location up (800metres elevation!) a very long and narrow road. Be warned to continue up the road when you start to doubt that there is a hotel. Beautiful views over Rottau and the distant lake Chiemsee. Excellent restaurant. Date of stay: 26 Sept 2011.

A very good position on a small mountain with views to Chiemsee to the North and Austria to the East. The staff were welcoming and our room was good.
Access to the hotel is up a mountain along a very narrow winding road. Passing places were few and it could be quite treacherous especially in bad weather, when a 4x4 vehicle or a car with winter tyres would be essential

We stumbled upon a cozy mountain hotel with stunning views above a popular lake. the charming restaurant served amazing dinners in a truly convivial atmosphere. Our spacious, comfortable room had an authentic alpine decor and the bathroom was spotless. the helpful staff provided us with excellent breakfasts and offered alternatives when needed. We enjoyed exploring the area and found the location to be very convenient.
The bed was too soft and caused some discomfort for one of us, affecting our sleep quality.

First, we were never informed that Tuesday ist ein"ruhigtag" and that no one would be at the desk when we arrive, Second the message was only in German that they were closed on Tuesday-need English as well Third I had to quess whether keys for Walter were for me my name is Scott, at breakfast there was no name place for Walter just Walker and
no, it is in a wonderful location away from noise and a lovely setting pastures, cows, and view of the lake.
